Wartime Veterans and their surviving spouses, 65 years and older, may be entitled to a tax-free benefit called Aid and Attendance Pension Benefit provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The benefit is designed to provide financial aid to help offset the cost of long-term-care for those who need assistance with daily activities of living such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, transferring and continence.

By answering a few simple questions we are able to determine your eligibility for the benefit.

Any Wartime Veteran with 90 days of active duty, with at least 1 day during the designated time period of War, is eligible to apply. A surviving spouse of a Wartime Vet may also apply.

The individual applying must qualify both financially and medically. Many people GOOGLE the benefits online to find out if they can or can't qualify, but the information they receive isn't always complete. What it won't tell you is that with a little financial planning more people can qualify.

The money received can be used for Home-Care, Independent/Assisted Living communities and Nursing Homes. It is paid directly to you by the Department of Treasury. The Pension can provide up to $1,830/month to a Veteran, $1,176/month to a surviving spouse, , and $2,169/month for an unhealthy couple.
